Introduction

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our website and services. By accessing or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Use of Services

Our services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that our services will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

User Accounts

When you create an account with us, you must provide accurate and complete information. You are responsible for safeguarding your account and for all activities that occur under your account.

Intellectual Property

Our website and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by us and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

User Content

You retain all rights to any content you submit, post, or display on or through our services. By submitting content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, and distribute your content.

Translation Processing and Credits

When cloud translation is available, your uploaded media is processed to produce transcripts, translated subtitles, and, if requested, a captioned video. Model output can contain errors; review the result before relying on or publishing it.

Processing uses credits. The credit calculation is explained in our FAQ. Usage reflects the text processed and generated during translation, including context and any necessary repair steps. Transcription is included without a separate duration charge. Media size, duration, and usage limits apply. The selected speech recognition model determines the credit rate shown before upload. MAI-Transcribe 2 uses a 5× rate compared with Whisper Turbo for the same text-processing usage, before whole-task rounding. Retries retain the chosen rate.

Credits are reserved after transcription and adjusted as processing proceeds. If the balance is insufficient, translation pauses and you can add credits and retry before the task expires. A task with no detected speech is not charged. Usage is combined and rounded up once per task. Credits are settled once when the task successfully completes, and unused reserved credits are returned. A failed or canceled task releases its reservation. Replaying a saved result or refreshing the page does not charge for a completed model call again; additional model calls needed to finish a successful task contribute to its usage. Closing the browser does not stop server-side processing.

Tasks created under an earlier pricing rule keep that rule when resumed. They are not charged again under a different rule.

New accounts created after the welcome offer launches receive 50 welcome credits once, after verification. Welcome credits expire 30 days after they are granted; they do not renew or start a subscription. No credit card is required. They may be used across multiple tasks, subject to the standard file limits. Processing usage varies; the grant does not guarantee a fixed number of media minutes.

Subscription credits expire at the end of their billing period. Top-up credits expire two years after purchase. Subscription credits are used first, then welcome credits, then top-up credits, with earlier expiry first within each type.

A payment refund removes the corresponding credits proportionally, rounded up to whole credits and limited to the original grant. If those credits have already been used, or a payment is disputed, further processing may be paused until billing support resolves the adjustment. This pause does not automatically charge your payment method.

Account Deletion and Downloads

Download results you want to keep before their expiry. Cloud media, intermediate processing files, subtitles, and generated videos are scheduled for removal after the task retention window, which defaults to 24 hours from task creation.

Account deletion stops subscriptions and removes stored media, translation records, profile files, and unused credits. Deletion does not itself issue a refund. An unfinished payment or model call, or an unavailable external service, may delay completion; the account is frozen while cleanup is pending and you can retry deletion. Limited financial records are retained as described in our Privacy Policy.

Prohibited Activities

You agree not to:

• Use our services in any way that violates any applicable law or regulation
• Engage in any conduct that restricts or inhibits anyone's use or enjoyment of our services
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our servers or networks
• Use our services to distribute malware or other harmful code

Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to our services immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason.

Limitation of Liability

In no event shall we be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of or inability to use our services.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. If we make changes, we will provide notice by posting the updated Terms on this page.
